A few folks have asked me why the slipcases are no longer optional on my books.
The reason the slipcases are no longer optional is because over the last several years there has been huge and constant price increases in materials and production costs. I have kept my prices the same, but it's come to a point now where I'm just not making enough money on my books, so sadly the prices have had to increase. Producing slipcased books does give me more profit as having more slipcases made decreases the cost per unit, whereas when they're optional, I don't have that many made and the production costs are really high. I don't want to have to charge a lot for a book alone so publishing slipcased books now gives me more profit and the customer something extra for their money, which I always try to do.
